About Charles M. Schulz - Typed Letter Signed 08/14/1981

CHARLES M. SCHULZ Charles M. Schulz sends a typed letter to Erika Holzer of thanks for the book. Typed Letter Signed: "Charles M. Schulz", 1p, 6x7. Santa Rosa, California, 1981 August 14. On yellow imprinted stationery. To author Erika Holzer, Mt. Kisco, New York. In full: "I read the first two chapters of the book you sent me this morning, and found it very exciting. I am looking forward to racing through to the finish! Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness in sending it to me. I am glad you are having more success with your writing than Snoopy." Schulz's stationery depicts Snoopy sitting atop his doghouse at the typewriter. Charles Schulz, a freelance cartoonist with "The Saturday Evening Post" (1948-1949), originally titled his single-panel cartoon about life's funny happenings "Li'l Folks". It was syndicated as a panel strip in 1950 as "Peanuts", a name Schulz disliked. In addition to both daily and Sunday strips, the "Peanuts" gang appeared in television specials and films and on a full line of popular merchandise. Schulz, who died in February 2000, just as his last strip was being delivered in Sunday newspapers, personally drew, inked and lettered every strip. His award-winning work is still syndicated. With transmittal envelope. Fine condition. Framed, not in Gallery of History style: 9½x12½. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. "As is" framing purchase. - Please contact us if you have any questions or require additional information. HFSID 264437
