CHARLES W. SANDMAN, JR. Representative Charles Sandman signs typescript of his Eulogy to Dwight David Eisenhower Typescript signed: "Charles W. Sandman Jr", 1p. 8½x11, titled Eulogy to Dwight David Eisenhower. Charles W. Sandman, Jr. (1921-1985) was a prisoner of war in Germany after being shot down during WWII. An attorney, he was elected three times to the New Jersey Senate (1955-1966)-resigning when he was elected to the US House of Representative in 1966. A Republican, Sandman supported Nixon and voted against impeachment in 1974, resulting in his defeat at election time. He was offered various positions by the Ford administration but turned them down instead taking an appointment to the Superior Court of New Jersey. Normal fold creases. Slight bleeding of ink.
