The RITE OF SPRING is the last of that great trilogy of ballets commissioned from Stravinsky by Sergei Diaghilev. It was composed during 1912/13 at Clarens, Switzerland, to a book by Stravinsky himself in collaboration with Nicholas Roederich, who also designed the costumes and scenery.
