About Millipore UFC903024 Amicon Ultra Centrifugal Filter

The Millipore UFC903024 Amicon Ultra Centrifugal Filter is a single-use, 15mL filter that concentrates, purifies, and desalts proteins from dilute and complex sample matrices with up to 80 to 100X concentration, and features a vertical membrane design for sample recovery that is typically greater than 90% of dilute starting solution and a processing time as fast as 10 to 15 minutes. The vertical design also minimizes solute polarization and fouling. The filter consists of a filter device, filtrate tube, and cap. It is used with a 200μL pipette (sold separately) to collect the concentrate from the sample reservoir of the filter device while the filtrate collects in the filtrate tube. The filter device and tube have graduations for monitoring sample volume. The filter has an Ultracel-30 regenerated cellulose membrane that is heat-sealed to minimize solute loss and has a nominal molecular weight limit (NMWL) cut off of 30 kilodaltons (kDa). It is compatible with centrifuges that have a swinging-bucket or fixed-angle rotor and wells for 50mL tubes. The filter device is copolymer styrene-butadiene, the filtrate tube is polypropylene, and the filtrate cap and liner are polyethylene for compatibility with biological fluids and aqueous solutions. Filters are sold in a pack of 24. Centrifugal filters are commonly used in laboratories for protein extraction, protein purification, and sample preparation.
