If it is installed facing the wrong direction, It will not capture any water and your machine will not work. 3. How do I know if my check valve is working? You can put your hand next to the end of check valve which connect with your CPAP machine. Your hand can feel the airflow from your machine, indicating your check valve is working. 4. You may see some black particles on the filter or on your hands; this is normal form and can be wiped off. 5. It is recommended that the filter and check valve are replaced every 6 month. But it is really depends on how many minutes per day you actually have your machine running. I suggest you leave it at default running time. 6. After changing the filter and check valve, please reset the machine to let it know that you have change the filter and let it restart the process of the timer. How to reset the machine? To hold down the HOURGLASS button and MANUAL button together until you see a smiley face icon appear on the display screen. When you see the smiley face icon, the reset is successful.
