But they do not know the amount of strength required in never letting go. Windmill You are encountering a heart that is returning home from war. It needs love — but it needs understanding more. It has seen things that may not make sense to you, or may not affect you in the same way ... maybe these things would never have broken you. Loss is funny that way. Some people get through grieving gracefully, and go on to fill the emptiness with a new adventure. But this heart is a windmill, with love flowing round and round its center. It's not a gentle breeze that cascades slowly across a field of untouched wildflowers, but is a whirlwind that has been harnessed by the storage of suppressed storms. And this heart is trying to find a way to channel this power for good. Because it knows that pain can be transformed into beauty, if it is released in a way that helps someone else get through their own heartache. Get to it It seems like you have it all figured out. Grieve. Get through it. And then get to it. But what if my get to it is merely to get through the grieving — over and over again. Death We hold hands and tell each other how sorry we are. We endure. We comfort the only way we know how. We hold, we hug, we weep. We sing song stories of remember when ... recalling when a person was young and stood on bold legs, having had more days in front of them than behind them. We play the highlight reel.
