About Moonjar Classic Award Winning Save Spend Share

A modern take on the traditional (ceramic) piggy bank, Moon Jar is an engaging learning tool used at home and in schools around the world to teach children simple financial concepts about how to SAVE, SPEND and SHARE their money wisely. Children of all ages can deposit their coins into one of 3 diamond shaped, tin compartments with either SAVE, SPEND, or SHARE printed on the side. They will hone their basic math skills (addition/subtraction), learn the value of each coin and how to save money for specific goals. They will be encouraged to spend their money carefully and to share with others. The three colorful tin containers are easy for little hands to grasp and play with. Each has a color-coded, acrylic lid that fits snugly and may require adult help to open when children are younger. Lids each have a money slot (measuring 1.5" long x 5/16" wide) for kids to easily deposit coins and folded bills. When bundled together with the acrylic band the Money Box set measure 5.25" high and 5" wide, a perfect size for storing on a shelf or in a drawer. As children talk about how they want to split up their allowance, their ability to communicate opinions and ideas will improve while, at the same time, they will be learning to make independent decisions about managing their finances. In addition to basic addition and subtraction, older children will learn how to determine the percentage of money they wish to allocate to each category. The paper deposit and withdrawal booklet prepare them for real life banking experiences by helping children track how much money they have added or subtracted from each of the 3 compartments – SAVE, SPEND, SHARE
