SELECTIVE GROWTH MEDIUM || 100g bottle of powdered growth medium. Used to grow, maintain and study gram-negative bacteria in petri dishes or culture tube slants.

DIFFERENTIATING GROWTH MEDIUM || Differentiate lactose-fermenting bacteria from non-fermenting bacteria. Lactose fermenting bacteria will form pink colonies.

EASY TO PREPARE || Simply mix 50 g medium with 1 L deionized water and bring to a boil while stirring to ensure medium is completely dissolved. Pour into petri dishes or culture tubes, then allow medium to cool and harden.

EXCELLENT FOR LABORATORIES AND CLASSROOMS || Ideal for use in general biology and microbiology laboratories and classrooms. This medium will only allow gram-negative bacteria to grow. Lactose fermenting bacteria will form pink colored colonies while non-lactose fermenting bacteria will grow colorless colonies.

100 grams of MacConkey Agar, used to select for gram-negative bacteria and differentiate between lactose-fermenting and non-fermenting species. Agar is dehydrated and supplied in a plastic open-mouth bottle for convenient storage. Each bottle makes 2 L of growth medium. Each bottle comes with an SDS, providing safe handling and storage information.
