About Reconciliation: The Archbishop Of Canterbury's Lent

Product description Global in scope, but focusing right down on the role of ordinary people in conflict and violence, Reconciliation explores both the positives of multiculturalism and the challenges of accepting difference. This book issues a vibrant call to the church to maintain and strengthen relationships locally, amongst members, clergy and laity; to cross borders to build relationships between different denominations, and to maintain open attitudes towards our neighbors from other religions and ideologies. Forty biblically-based meditations, with questions for reflection, are offered for use at weekly gatherings or for everyday devotion during Lent, on topics including impediments to reconciliation, risking the self, humility, and radical openness to the other. About the Author Dr Muthuraj Swamy was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh for his doctorate on the theme of Interrogating Interreligious Dialogue. He is currently Director of The Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide, and was previously the Dean of Faculty of Theology in the Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, India, where he taught in the fields of Religion and Theology. He is a Visiting Fellow at St. John’s College, Durham University, and Visiting Professor at the Institute of Advanced Christians Studies (IACS) of the Madras Christian College, Chennai, the South Asian Institute for Advanced Studies (SAIACS), Bangalore, and The Association for Theological Education by Extension (TAFTEE), Bangalore. Muthuraj has also been involved with interreligious organizations in India for several years, promoting national dialogue and peace building programs. At present, he is occupied with various publication activities as the General Editor of the Mission Theology in the Anglican Communion series to be published by SPCK, and editor of three pre-Lambeth Conference 2020 volumes on Reconciliation, Witness and Prayer.
