About AEMC 1035 Digital Megohmmeter Field Kit With Test
The AEMC 1035 electrical test kit includes a digital megohmmeter plus accessories, for measuring insulation resistance to 20GΩ, low-resistance to 400kΩ, and AC and DC voltage to 600V. In addition to the megohmmeter, the kit comes with a remote test probe, a set of test leads, a set of alligator clips, a test probe, two hook-grip probes, instructions, and a hard carrying case for field testing applications. The remote test probe has a test button for performing measurements and a target light to aid visibility. The auto-ranging meter has four test voltages—50, 100, 250, and 500V—for measuring insulation resistance to indicate the condition of windings or cables in motors, switchgears, electrical and telephone installations, and other insulated equipment. Insulation testing is disabled when a voltage greater than 25V is detected. When measurement is complete and the test button is released, the meter enters voltage detection mode and automatically discharges residual voltage from the circuit under test. High and low thresholds for insulation and resistance measurements can be set, triggering an alarm when readings fall outside the settings, and will be retained even after the meter is powered off. The relative function allows a measurement to be set as a reference value and displays subsequent measurements as a positive or negative deviation from that value. The meter has a 4,000-count LCD with a backlight for visibility in low light that automatically turns off after one minute. The display shows readings numerically and on a 34-segment bar graph. The meter is rated for category (CAT) III installations to 600V, which covers equipment in fixed installations, such as switches in the fixed installation and some industrial equipment that is permanently connected to the fixed installation. It automatically turns off after five minutes of non-use to conserve battery life and has a low-battery indicator that signals when the batteries need to be replaced.
