Description The Laxco Alpha-1860 UV/visible-light spectrophotometer has a digitally-adjustable 190 to 1000nm wavelength range, a 4nm spectral bandwidth, and a halogen and deuterium lamp, and is used for industry and research applications. The instrument provides direct measurement of basic photometric, quantitative, DNA, protein, kinetics, wavelength, and routine absorbance and transmittance measurements, and stores up 1,000 test points. The 4.0nm bandwidth is used for routine quality control measurements when high resolution is not required. The halogen and deuterium lamp and single detector supports routine measurements in the UV/visible range. The instrument has a multi-cuvette sample holder. The graphical LCD provides advanced re-scaling axis, curve smoothing, zoom, overlap, and a first to fourth derivative for qualitative analysis. A USB port provides data output to a computer (sold separately). A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland security, and educational applications.
