The support allows you to hold your engine stable when removing your transmission for work, or to hold your transmission stable when you remove your engine. The double beam design provides unbeatable durability and stability, making it easy to keep your engine or transmission stable, even during exceptionally long rebuilds. Having a good engine hold will save you tons of time on your next transmission rebuild. It’s generally much simpler to remove your transmission by first removing the subframe and then dropping your transmission out from below, rather than pulling your engine out first, and then removing the transmission from the top. Dropping it out from below requires removing dozens fewer fasteners, and doesn’t necessitate draining all the fluid and oil out of your engine, which, all in all, will probably cut your time in half. And being able to keep your transmission safely held in place means that you won’t need to go through the trouble of removing both transmission and engine from above the next time you need to do an intensive engine repair. If you regularly work on your car, this engine support bar will very likely pay for itself.
