Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD or VHS picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Composite-video, S-video, and RF (coaxial) outputs ensure compatibility with any television, and you don't have to worry about making separate connections for each component--even if you're using the RF audio/video output, both the DVD and the VCR signals will flow through a single connection. With S-VHS quasi playback, you'll be able to watch (in regular VHS resolution) tapes recorded in Super-VHS, normally only compatible with more expensive S-VHS machines. Advanced programming can be set for 1 months and 8 events, and Pro-cision 19 micron heads deliver the clearest possible picture when recording or viewing in EP (extended-play) mode.
