About Dementia Caused By Type 3 Diabetes Can Be

There currently is not a known cause or an effective pharmaceutical drug to treat Alzheimer's form of dementia. Even if pharmaceutical companies developed an effective drug today, it would be many years in the safety testing and FDA approval cycle. Caregivers need an answer NOW. The purpose of this book is to encourage caregivers not to accept the premise that some forms of dementia cannot be reversed. Because of damage to the brain, a complete reversal may not be possible, but most caregivers would willingly accept a partial reversal of symptoms. There is a major effort going on in university and government laboratories all over the world using existing readily available vitamins and nutritional supplements to arrest and reverse the progress of dementia. This book describes the authors experience controlling his wife's dementia which turned out to be misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's, but in fact was caused by a shortage of Vitamin B1 in the brain. The dementia was controlled by using a derivative of vitamin B1 called benfotiamine developed and patented in 1962.The book includes descriptions of other readily available vitamins and nutritional supplements which are being studied for their effects on dementia. Also included is a reference to a recent book by Doctor Mary T Newport who used coconut oil to successfully reverse her husband's Alzheimer's dementia.
