When we developed this grill topper, we conducted thorough research on all kinds of grill toppers in the market, here are the weaknesses of most ordinary grill toppers we found: --Soft Grill Mats-- These are made out of PTFE (Teflon). PTFE is nontoxic at lower temperatures, but it begins to deteriorate after the temperature reaches about 500 °F, and decomposes above 662 °F. The degradation by-products can be extremely toxic and harmful to the human body and unnecessary for cooking. --Metal Grill Toppers-- We collected samples of every model of other brands which constructed with porcelain steel or stainless steel and did the heating test. Most of them are so easy to warp under normal grilling temperature. It warps even worse when you put cold food on it when the pan is hot, cooks food unevenly. Based on the research and evaluation, we decided to design a safe and no-warp grill topper and now it is released online. The Secret of Unicook Warp-Free Grill Topper is the slotted holes on the bottom. The special designed slots allow the heat to circulate within the pan, distribute the heat tensile strength evenly from the middle hot point to the outside. It will not wrap even when a small area of the pan is heated to red color.
