George Washington was well known for his punctuality and he used the 18th century's most accurate method of telling time: the sundial. Washington's brass sundial, which rested on a wooden post outside the mansion, was made between 1765 and 1785 and was likely to have been imported from England. The reproduction of Washington's octagonal sundial is available in two finishes; aged bronze and verdigris bronze. The base of the sundial is 12-13" wide and dial is 5 ½" tall. Hours are shown in Roman Numerals. Cast aluminum. Made in the USA. View the original: Sundial
