About Rice Lake 12 Piece Stainless Steel ASTM Class 1
The Rice Lake metric, stainless steel test weight set meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Class 1 specifications, and is designed for calibrating other weights, or electronic balances and scales. The weight set is constructed of polished stainless steel for stability, resistance to corrosion, and low magnetic susceptibility, and a polished surface highlights wear that can affect weight precision. The weight meets ASTM E617, Class 1 specification for use as a reference standard for calibrating other weights and high-precision balances with readabilities as low as 0.1mg to 0.01mg. The set of 12 includes one weight each of 500mg, 300mg, 200mg, 100mg, 50mg, 30mg, 20mg, 10mg, 5mg, 3mg, 2mg, and 1mg, tweezers, and a protective case. Calibration weights are used to measure the weight or mass of an object using a balance or scale, or to calibrate other weights or instruments. Calibration weights can be certified or uncertified.
