Brass Apothecary Balance Scale in a velvet-lined wood case with brass hinges and closures. This is a display item for decorative use only, and is not meant for accurate measurements. The scale post mounts in a hole in the wooden base, and the scales hang from it. The assembled scale measures about 5" wide and 6" tall. The hinged wooden case measures 4-1/4" x 7-1/2". Set includes post, scales, tweezers, four brass gram weights and five silver-colored milligram weights. This makes a great "scales of justice" gift idea for a lawyer or a judge. Also makes a fun role-playing toy for wizards who are making potions. NOTE: This is a hand-finished item, so please allow for color variations in the wood stain.
