On Vibrational Healing Music, composer Marjorie de Muynck offers you a therapeutic journey in her signature tuning of Ohm, known for its ability to soothe, balance, and rejuvenate. The body, in its natural intelligence, is able to assimilate Ohm and all its beautiful overtones and utilize these properties on a vibratory level, explains de Muynck. Here, she organically combines ambient sounds of the earth from a surprising array of sources. You will find yourself transported as your vibrational being harmonizes with the life-affirming frequencies of the Earth. Source Material: While gathering sounds for this recording, de Muynck visited an apiary in northern New Mexico. Watching the bees' flight patterns, de Muynck describes how she began to feel their rhythms, and to hear the healing sound of their drone. In addition, a segment from Jim Wilson's famous Cricket Chorus is woven in as a tribute. Liner notes with album further describe the composers recording experience and realization that we are all one vibration. The familiar theme underlying this recording comes from the Largo movement of Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 (From the New World), chosen for its simplicity, beauty and familiarity, and for its ability to conjure the vast spaciousness and splendor of the American landscape. From the Composer: Vibration characterizes all life forms. The vibrational rate or frequency at which every life form resonates is what gives it its own unique personality. On Vibrational Healing Music, I express this fundamental tone through the use of acoustic instruments and field recordings. No synthesized sounds have been used. The elliptical and vibrational nature of this drone is key to this recording; it is the mesmerizing sound wave of a world in harmony with the wider cosmos. Featured instruments include harmonica, dobro and pedal steel guitar. Featured animals and plants: crickets, cicadas, honeybees, ruby-throated hummingbird, fruit bat, baby crows, and barrel cactus. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Marjorie de Muynck is a pioneer of four influential musical compositions in the Key of Ohm™: There's No Place Like Ohm Volumes 1 & 2 (2002 & 2005), In the Key of Earth, and Vibrational Healing Music (2007, 2009).
