1: Select and purchase sample testing. You will be mailed a cold pack, a foil-insulated envelope, and vials for sample collection. 2: Collect your waterline samples. Clinical staff members, dental assistants, registered dental hygienists or dentists should collect the dental water samples in the laboratory vials provided in your kit. Water samples from high speed, ultrasonic units and air/water tips may be collected. 3: Send us your samples. Return the cold pack, water samples and self-addressed FedEx envelope back to our laboratory for testing. 4: We test your samples. Our laboratory will conduct a heterotrophic plate analysis of your samples. Results are reported in pass/fail format. Consult with your waterline manufacturer regarding re-testing frequency. Bacteria and biofilms may begin to appear or be reintroduced into dental unit waterlines subsequent to testing. A passing result indicates C.F.U. levels under 200 CFU/mL of sample at the time of testing.
