Peristaltic pumps drive fluid through a tube by squeezing it between moving rollers and a stationary shell. The only part in contact with the fluid is the inside of the tubing, making them ideal for sanitary applications and corrosive chemical handling. They transfer a fixed volume per revolution, allowing them to pump gases as well as liquids and self-prime. This unit is equipped with a stepper motor, allowing precise flow rate and volume control. Driver recommendations: A 1.5A current regulating full step drive with 36V power supply is recommended for operation up to 300 RPM. Lower voltages may be used with a proportional speed reduction. Voltages higher than 36V may allow higher speed and flow rate, but care must be taken not to overheat the motor or rollers. Microstepping drives with at least 2A peak current (1.4A RMS) may provide smoother and quieter operation, but reduce torque and may allow the motor to stall, especially at speeds over 150 RPM. Common low-cost drives based on the Toshiba TB6600, TI DRV8825, and similar chips are likely to be suitable.
