About President John F. Kennedy - Photograph Signed

JOHN F. KENNEDY The Commander-in-Chief signed this 3½x5 photograph during his 1960 primary campaign, framed to overall size of 13¾x22 Photograph Signed: "John Kennedy". B/w, 3½x5. Typed: "John/Kennedy". On verso: "John F. Kennedy paused for this picture/-Hotel Westward Ho-Phoenix, Arizona/April 9, 1960/Autographed hurriedly (as you can/see) by John F. Kennedy/with our pen-/Hotel Westward Ho-/Phoenix, Arizona,/November 3, 1960/-just (5) days before the 1960/Presidential elections./kb" On April 9, 1960, campaigning for the Democratic nomination for President, Kennedy spoke during the day in Tucson and that evening in Phoenix where this photograph was taken. John F. Kennedy (1917-1963), a decorated US Navy veteran of World War II, represented Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives (1947-1953) and Senate (1953-1960). In 1957, he was named to the prestigious Foreign Relations Committee. During his first term as U.S. Senator, Kennedy co-wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning Profiles in Courage while recovering from back surgery. The book discusses eight times in U.S. history where a U.S. Senator stood up for what he thought was right, no matter what his party or the public had to say. Kennedy went on to become the nation's 35th President. Sadly, his tenure in the Oval Office was cut short by the infamous assassination in Dallas Texas, on November 22, 1963, subject to numerous conspiracy theories in the decades since. Signature lightly smudged. Slightly creased. Framed in Gallery of History style: 13¾x22. - Please contact us if you have any questions or require additional information. HFSID 50382
