Delicious crema catalana, also called catalan cream, is so easy to make at home when you have the right equipment. This set of 6 ceramic cazuelas provides the perfect vessel, shallow and wide, along with a metal caramelizing iron (called a salamander) that does a beautiful job of creating a cracklingly crisp sugared topping for the smooth and silky custard. The cazuelas measure 4 3/4 inches across and 1 inch deep. Capacity is 6 ounces (3/4 cup). They can go in the oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher.
