Amazon.com Named in homage to Buddy Hollys greatest rocker, Denmarks Raveonettes have forged small, satisfying changes on twangy garage pop over three records. (Think somewhere between Chris Isaak and the Jesus and Mary Chain.) Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foos second full-length, Pretty in Black, makes the duos influences even more explicit than before with a cover of the Angelsgirl-group monster "My Boyfriends Back" (co-written by Raveonettes co-producer Richard Gottehrer) and "Here Comes Mary," a ballad that walks almost as closely in the melodic steps of the Everly Brothers "All I Have to Do is Dream" as "Surfin U.S.A." did those of "Sweet Little Sixteen." But its the new tricks they unpack--the shimmy of "Love in a Trashcan," the disco stomp of "Twilight"--that make this their own music. --Rickey Wright Product Description Pretty In Black by The Raveonettes
