About A Line In The Sea: The Qatar V. Bahrain Border

Product Description The border dispute between Qatar and Bahrain simmered for more than 50 years before it was adjudicated by the International Court of Justice—a process that took ten long years. This authoritative book documents the controversy in the context of its imperial roots, the countries' ruling families, the discovery of oil, and the political destinies of the emerging Gulf states. This color illustrated historical account includes the forensic evidence that identified key forgeries in the case. About the Author Jawad Salim Al-Arayed is currently Minister of Justice for the Kingdom of Bahrain. He holds LLB and LLM degrees from Leeds University (UK), and is a member of Gray's Inn. Since 1969 he has served at the highest levels of government in Bahrain including terms as Minister for Municipalities & Environmental Affairs, State, Health, and Cabinet Affairs. Mr. Al-Arayed presented Bahrain's application for UN membership to the Security Council in 1971, and often represents Bahrain at international conferences such as the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. He served as Bahrain's Agent before the International Court of Justice during its boundary dispute with Qatar.
