About Soy De Sangre Kolla, Quechua Y Aymara

Fortaleza was formed in June 1979 by the brothers Ramiro -- Gonzalo and John de la Zerda -- in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Their name (Spanish for "fortress") was inspired by the ancient ruins and forts left behind by the Tiahuanaco and Inca civilization. The group is known throughout South America for its authenticity and style with regards to composition, performance and the creative technique of their playing. Subsequently the group has built an enormous following in the US. Based in Boston, the group has given major concerts around the country. The group's strong, emotional voices and lavish instrumental arrangements capture the sound of pre-Colombian Inca culture and the heart of Bolivia's contemporary movement.
