About Palmetto 1030AF Series Graphite Impregnated

This Palmetto style 1030AF composite Kynol, aramid, and acrylic packing seal with a graphite-based solid lubricant protects rotating and oscillating equipment, such as pumps and agitators, from fluid leaks in general service applications. The plaited packing seal is made from Palmetto’s proprietary composite material (Quadrasyn) containing Kynol, aramid, and acrylic yarns. Kynol provides the packing with thermal and dimensional stability, and resistance to most chemicals and solvents. Aramid increases the tensile strength of the packing, improving its resistance to abrasion. A graphite-based solid lubricant (Impregloid) helps reduce frictional heat and drag for increased packing life, minimizes packing shrinkage, and requires fewer gland adjustments than liquid lubricants. This packing seal is compatible with media in the pH range of 3-11, has a pressure-velocity (PV) factor of 650,000, a shaft speed of up to 2,000 feet per minute (fpm), and a maximum pressure limit of 200 pounds per square inch (psi) in pumps and 1,800 psi in valves. It operates at temperatures from -400 to 600 degrees F (-240 to 316 degrees C). Style 1030AF is for use in centrifugal pumps, mixers, agitators, and blenders, among others. Specifications pH range 3-11 Pressure limit in pumps 200 psi (14 bar) Pressure limit in valves 1,800 psi (124 bar) PV factor 650,000 Shaft speed 2,000 fpm (10.16 m/s) Temperature range -400 to 600 degrees F (-240 to 316 degrees C)Rope seals provide a pressure seal to help retain fluids and gases in a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. They have a round, square, or rectangular cross section, and come in various braided
