From the Manufacturer A precise trim router for finishing edge banding or light edge routing, nothing compares to the power, ease of use, and modularity of the MFK 700 trim router. The standard base is extremely wide for improved stability in edge forming applications, working near an edge, or working on narrow stock. Precision engineering, and micro adjustments make this trim router a must have item for the worksite or the workshop. The MFK is equipped with a threaded insert to accept standard screw-together style template guides (guide bushings). With over 5 inches (130 mm) of base support from the center of the bit to the furthest edge, the MFK 700 is well suited for those routing tasks that smaller based routers teeter and fumble on such as trimming laminate. With two hand-hold positions the MFK can easily maneuver a variety of contours and with the large hand knob farthest away from the cutter keeping the router firmly planted on a surface while edge routing is comfortable and controllable. The micro-adjustable fine depth control allows the MFK to be accurately dialed into a precise setting for inlay work. The 720 watt (6.0 amp) motor is nearly one horsepower and can perform light to medium routing tasks with ease. The motor has a 9/16 inch (14 mm) total vertical adjustment with full micro-adjustability throughout the entire travel range. The MFK 700 accepts both 1/4 inch and 8 mm collets and is equipped with a spindle lock for one-wrench bit changes. Plug-It detachable cord is interchangeable with other select Festool products and can be removed for safer bit changes, and easier storage and transport. The MFK 700 set version also includes a horizontal base plate and sensor bearing unit to convert the unit from a vertical to a horizontal orientation for precise depth control for trimming edge-banding. This system allows for the use of bearing-less bits to prevent scratches from seized bearings while providing a perfectly flush surface. Made in Germany.
