About PRO Strand 1/4" X 200', 7x19, Vinyl Coated

1/4" diameter 7x19 vinyl coated galvanized cable coated to a finished diameter of 5/16". 200 ft reel constructed of 7 strands and 19 wires per strand. Vinyl coating is clear and the 7x19 construction makes this cable very flexible. Breaking strength is 7000 lbs. and working load limit is 1400 lbs. Cable weighs 0.11 pounds per foot and adheres to federal specification RR-W-410H. Standard Reel Size (Flange Diameter x Height): 10.63 x 6.3 inches. Steel cable is often referred to as Aircraft cable, but this cable is not rated for aircraft use.Conforms to U.S. Federal Specification RR-W-410H. Commonly used on small diameter pulleys, running rigging on sailboats, exercise equipment, winches and control cables. 7x19 is the best all around cable for most applications. This is galvanized cable with a clear vinyl coating. It provides additional corrosion resistance, high flexibility, superior appearance and abrasion resistance. Hot dipped drawn galvanized coated steel cable is the highest quality type of galvanized cable. The drawn galvanized process involves running each individual wire of the cable is run through a molten zinc bath. Next, it is drawn through sizing dies before it is formed together into the finished cable. This particular process creates a smooth, durable, and uniform finish. It is the gold standard for galvanized cable compared to other methods. It offers moderate corrosion resistance and remains ductile over long periods when running over sheaves. Galvanized cable is stronger than stainless steel cable. In order to achieve maximum strength on vinyl coated cable, please remove the vinyl coating from the cable in the area where the wire rope clip, sleeve, or button will be affixed. When selecting termination fittings for vinyl coated cable, select the fitting that is sized to the diameter of the cable, not the diameter of the coating. If you affix the termination fitting over the vinyl coating, the strength of the assembly will be greatly reduced.
