The San Pedro is a very common landscaping plant due to its very fast growth. They are a very hardy variety of cacti and grow easily in a wide range of conditions. The medicinal content of these cacti apparently are a defense mechanism against invading organisms, and increase during stressful conditions particularly when the cacti are under watered. The San Pedro Cactus is a very beautiful cactus and will grow beautiful flowers after a some years of growth.
