Kim Lindaberry’s iron “Stand Alone” figure, the subject of this photograph, was sculpted by him and its actual size is approximately 16 inches. “It is half-way between a skeleton and something else,” he says. “It is a time traveler but it is also inspired by ancient Greek caryatids, which acted as supports for architectural forms.” Lindaberry photographed sparklers at night to create the cosmic backdrop for this figure, who he believes “captures the human condition, our place in the universe, where we came from, what we are today, and what we will become.” The gun in the background can refer to death, violence, or anything else the viewer can imagine.
