The sensuous melodies and rhythms of the Argentine tangos are performed in their original intimate arrangements, featuring world-renowned pianist Daniel Barenboim with Rodolfo Mederos (bandoneon) and Hector Console (bass). This album consists of 14 tangos by composers including Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla. Tangos Among Friends was recorded October 1-2, 1995 in Estudio ION in Buenos Aires, while Barenboim was performing there with the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin Orchestra.
