About Micca 1-Inch Tall Adjustable Acoustic Foam Wedge

For any speaker, there is perhaps no other factor that affects its sound quality as much as placement. With this in mind, Micca adjustable acoustic foam wedge isolation pads were designed specifically for optimizing the placement of MB42 and MB42X bookshelf speakers and PB42X powered monitors, whether they are used on a desk, shelf, or entertainment center. Optimized Placement Made with high density acoustic foam, each isolation pad comes with a base and an angle adjustment wedge. The base by itself provides 4-degree tilt, which can be increased to 8 degrees with the adjustment wedge to obtain desired amount of on/off-axis angle. A rounded lip holds the speaker in place to prevent it from sliding due to the slope. The pads are 4.9-inch wide and 7.5-inch deep, and add approximately 1 inch of lift to the speakers, raising their acoustic center closer to the center-line of most computer monitors. Enhanced Isolation The Micca isolation pads minimizes the mechanical transmission of vibrations from the speaker enclosure to the desk or shelf. This can dramatically improve the clarity and tonal balance of speakers by preventing the desk/shelf from becoming a secondary emissive surface. Versatility In addition to the bookshelf models listed above, the isolation pads are also useful for adjusting the tilt angle of MB42-C and MB42X-C center channel speakers. Often, center channel speakers are placed above or below the TV, resulting in less than ideal angle when facing the listeners. The isolation pads can be used to add the necessary downward/upward tilt for optimal on-axis alignment. Note: The Micca isolation pads are designed to be used on a stable and flat surface. Do not use them in conjunction with speaker stands, mounts, or any surface that has an angle. Doing so may result in the speakers being unstable and prone to toppling or falling. Only use the isolation pads for the intended purpose.
