The foundation of the new Strider collection is Nordica's award winning tri-force shell design. Tri-force, is a three-part shell injection technology is designed to maximize performance while delivering the athletic advantages of lightweight ski boots. To further enhance the tri-force technology and the performance to weight ratio of the Strider, Nordica took advantage of the extremely lightweight and durable Grilamid plastic compound. When Nordica developed their Infrared Heating Element and Tri-Force shell, they saw the need to create a boot design and a customization technology that would work together to deliver the perfect amount of customization only to areas of the shell where itâ€s needed. They also saw the need to create a system that was accurate and easy to use, saving time and eliminating mistakes. The key component in achieving this is the Infrared Heating lamp. The lamp heats the plastic of the boot quickly from the inside out, at a right temperature. This allows the boot to remain undamaged by the heating element and for the customization to take a permanently defined shape. The Striderâ€s Hike/Ride system is engineered with lightweight materials and is designed with a greater offset distance from its spine pivot point to its locked position in alpine mode. This greater offset distance structurally supports the fore and aft forces of alpine skiing, channeling power to the edges of your skis, while providing a high degree of mobility.
