General Hydroponics ph up and down kit contains 8 oz pH UP, 8 oz pH DOWN, 1 oz indicator and vial and 8 pipettes for safe and easy pH level detection. This base solution is formulated using potassium hydroxide and potassium carbonate. Add a little at a time when your nutrient pH is too low in order to raise the pH to the proper level. This powder based formula is made to raise the pH in a reservoir. Lightweight in comparison to liquids. Acid formulated using food grade Phosphoric acid. Just add a little at a time if your nutrient pH is too high in order to lower the pH to the proper level. A pH of 6.5 is just about right for most home gardens, since most plants thrive in the 6.0 to 7.0 (slightly acidic to neutral) range. Some plants (blueberries, azaleas) prefer more strongly acidic soil, while a few (ferns, asparagus) do best in soil that is neutral to slightly alkaline.
