The reed valve block produces the connection between manifold and motor block. This is where induction is regulated. It goes like this: the piston moves up, which creates a vacuum in the crankcase. This in turn, causes the reeds to open and the fuel mix flows in through the reed valve block. As soon as the pistons move down, the mix is compressed. Now, the reeds close again, which in turn keeps the fuel from fl owing back out. Due to it's optimal flow, a racing reed valve block belongs to the absolute basics of motor tuning. The POLINI reed valve block has the following features: larger intake diameter, improved cylinder fill, carbon reeds, rubberized sealing lip.
