About Charcoal Companion CC3133 Crepe

Enjoy delicate, delicious crepes right from the grill! This complete crepe-making kit gives you the tools you'll need to cook crepes of just the right size, thickness and doneness. Simply pour your batter onto your preheated crepe plate, use the spreader to get the batter to your desired size and shape, then give it a flip to crisp up the other side. Serve your crepes with your favorite fillings and toppings. Whether sweet or savory, crepes are perfect for any meal. HOW TO SEASON YOUR GRIDDLE: Before using your crepe griddle for the first time, it should be properly seasoned. To season the griddle, simply brush all sides with a thin coating of oil (preferably safflower, sunflower, or flax seed oil) and place it on the grill over indirect medium-high heat. With the grill lid closed, heat the griddle for at least 30 - 40 minutes, turn off heat source, and allow the griddle to cool. Repeat this process once more before using it to cook crepes. HOW TO MAKE CREPES: Preheat griddle over medium high heat 8 - 10 minutes. Griddle is ready when surface temperature is around 450 - 500 DegreeF (232 - 260 DegreeC). Place 1/4 to 1/2 cup crepe batter on the griddle and spread in a circular motion with included crepe spreader. It may take 2-3 circular passes to spread batter to the desired size. Do not spread batter with more than 3 - 4 circular rotations, as the crepe will be too thin and begin to tear as it nears its fully cooked state. Crepes should take 2 - 4 minutes to cook. Flip the crepe halfway through cooking to crisp the second side. Serve with desired fillings or toppings. To keep batter from accumulating on the crepe spreader, keep a small container of hot water close to the grill. After each crepe, rinse the spreader in the water to remove any excess batter.
