Technique: Original Stamp Signed Double Sided Pencil Drawing on paper Size: 36.6 x 35 cm / 14.4 x 13.8 in Additional Information: This Work is stamp signed with the Collection stamp of "Steinlen - Ex. Collection Georges Clavigny" at the lower right. This is a double sided drawing that was drawn in circa 1893. The verso is a study for Steinlen's lithograph of 1893 "L’Epouvantail Bourgeois" (The Bourgeois Scarecrow). Georges Clavigny (1873-1946) was a French journalist and writer and was also a close friend of Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen. The collection included many works of Steinlen that were probably given to Georges Clavigny. Provenance: Collection of Georges Clavigny. Condition: minor creases and folds.3 tears in the right margins.
