The 307 Fluval Performance Canister Filter provides unparalleled filtration to freshwater and saltwater aquariums between 40 and 70 gallons. The filter boasts a sturdy, sophisticated design that offers significantly reduced energy consumption at only 16 watts, as well as near silent operation that is approximately 25% quieter than previous generations of this product, all without sacrificing the power or consistency of the water pressure. Additionally, the Fluval External Performance Canister Filter is constructed with larger rubber stabilizers on the feet to reduce and dampen the amount of vibration as well as provide added protection to the bottom of the unit. Featuring ergonomic AquaStop valves with raised lips for smoother operation, single action dual Life-Lock motorhead clamps for quick release and installation as well as a completely redesigned primer that uses easy grip handles so that you can effortlessly start up your filter, this unit is every hobbyists dream. To help reduce mess during maintenance, the unit has an EZ-Lift media basket with an all new center handle to allow a media stack to be removed with just one finger, without having to empty the entire canister of water. The media basket holds a durable, rippled surface Bio-Foam Max sponge that provides 30% more surface area to trap waste, debris and detritus as well as reducing the amount of premature clogging. For a greater, smoother flow of water, the filter offers unobstructed, frictionless rotation as well as an incredibly accurate impeller-rotor interface. A vertical pre-filter cartridge with independent access offers a greater amount of surface area which also helps to provide improved mechanical filtration. The filter offers a flow rate of 303 gph with a max head height of 5.7 feet.
