Anonymous. SEATED MALE NUDE. Drawing in red chalk,French,18th Century. 21 x 16 3/4 inches; 534 x 425 mm. The signature has been partly effaced,and is not readily legible. Annotated,including the date 1785,on verso. An academic figure study of a nude male,seated,with his right arm raised in front of his eyes. In good condition,but with a 1 x 2 inch paper loss in the left margin,top,distant from the image. This drawing,purchased at auction,was the property of Agnes Mongan,curator of Prints and Drawings at the Fogg Museum of Harvard University.
