Hygloss Products Wooden Dowel Rods, made from white birch, are stronger and less likely to break than other dowels. You will love using these wood rods for a variety of projects in the classroom and at home. Use them in school for a puppet show, banners and flags. They are great for woodworking hobbyists, DIY home decor, model building, wedding props, photo props and so much more! We offer a huge selection of dowel widths and package sizes, to satisfy all your various crafting needs. The dowel rods are available in 4 lengths (12", 18", 24" and 36”) and in 4 widths (1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4"). Allow 1/8" tolerance in length. These wooden dowel rods are made from premium White Birch Wood. The wood is kiln-dried which removes more moisture from the wood as opposed to just air drying. This will help these wood rods maintain their shape and straightness. If you are looking to add a finish to these wooden dowel rods, then you are in luck. They come unfinished and stains and paints are absorbed very nicely by this wood. The wood is completely sanded down at the end of the production process. This creates an ultra-smooth wood rod that is safe for kids to use.
