About Anaheim Scientific H400 Digital Anemometer With

The Anaheim Scientific H400 anemometer with vane probe and data logger measures air velocity in m/s, fpm, knots, mph, and km/h, and air temperature in degrees C and F, and has data record and hold functions for analyzing air flow. Data record function captures and displays maximum and minimum readings and data hold function freezes a reading on the display to aid documentation. The built-in data logger has a manual mode for recording a single reading and auto mode for recording readings at 1, 2, 10, 30, 60, 600, 1,800, and 3,600 seconds. For transferring and storing data directly to a PC, the meter has a 3.5 mm output terminal for connecting to the RS-232 serial port of a compatible PC (interface cable sold separately). The five-digit LCD shows air velocity and temperature readings simultaneously. The meter has an auto power-off mode that shuts it down after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life and has a low-battery indicator. It has European Conformity (CE) marking. This anemometer is used for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) testing, energy audits, environmental experiments, building maintenance, agriculture, and science experiments, among other applications. Specifications Air velocity range 0.4 to 25.0 m/s; 80 to 4,930 fpm; 0.8 to 48.8 knots; 0.9 to 55.9 mph; 1.4 to 90.0 km/h Air velocity resolution 0.1 m/s (0.01m/s at < 10 m/s); 1 fpm; 0.1 knots; 0.1 mph; 0.1 km/h Air velocity accuracy + or - (2% + 0.2 m/s) Air temperature range 0 to 50 degrees C/32 to 122 degrees F Operating environment 0 to 50 degrees C/32 to 122 degrees F at less than 80% relative humidity Power (6) 1.5V AAA batteries (included) Vane diameter 72 mm/2.8 inches Main unit dimensions (H x W x D) 174 x 68 x 42 mm/6.9 x 2.7 x 1.7 inches Weight 387 g/0.85 lb. H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Anemometers, also called wind meters, measure air velocity and are most commonly used for weather monitoring to determine wind speed and for HVAC applications to determine air flow within ducts. In addition to air velocity, anemometers may measure wind direction, air pressure, air flow volume, air temperature, humidity, light, and other properties. The most common types of anemometer are cup, vane, hot-wire, and Pitot tube. Cup and vane anemometers calculate air velocity based on the number of rotations of the cups or vane. Hot-wire anemometers calculate air velocity by measuring the change in electrical resistance as air flow cools a heated wire. Pitot tube anemometers measure air pressure within a tube and calculate air velocity based on the difference in pressure between the air inside and outside of the tube. Many anemometers have digital readouts and can display air velocity readings in different units of measure, such as meters per second (m/s), feet per minute (ft./min. or fpm), knots, miles per hour (mph), and kilometers per hour (km/h). Anaheim Scientific manufactures environment testing tools and supplies. The company, founded in 2005, is headquartered in Yorba Linda, CA. What's in the Box?
