A piece of American muscle car and law enforcement history. The Alabama Department of Pulic Safety purchased the AMC Javelin as a more cost effective vehicle from the standard larger sized police cruisers for the Alabama Highway Patrol in 1971, the same year Javelin won the Trans-Am title and would go on to win in 1972 and 1976 as well.
