In recent years, growing evidence has shown that these powerful antioxidants could protect against many chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. This book describes a series of in vitro, animal and humans studies conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of polyphenol-rich green coffee bean extract and dark chocolate on biomarkers of glucose metabolism, blood pressure and lipid profile in overweight and obese individuals.
