It is native to Africa, and is a fast, aggressive growing, scrambling, vine like shrub with long, flexible rope like stems that can grow up to as much as 10 feet in a single season. It is best grown on a large trellis or other sturdy support where size can be kept in check. Dart Vine is showy and profuse spring bloomer. Five petaled, multi hued, soft pink and burgundy flowers contrast nicely with thick, dark olive green, leaves and twisted ropey stems. Flowers last for several weeks and have an intense fragrance that is reminiscent of roses and sandalwood.
