With the performance of the groundbreaking LSiM series in a smaller, flexible bookshelf speaker format, the LSiM703 gives you the best of all worlds. key features Polk's exclusive dynamic sonic engine design optimizes the midrange driver and the ring radiator tweeter in separate interior chambers for improved transient response, superior imaging and greater horizontal off-axis response. Our innovative overhung voice coil design augments the excursion length for subwoofers, increasing their power-handling capabilities and enhancing bass response. Extended linear motion voice coil design allows lots of movement in a limited space, reducing impedance and extending mid- and high-frequency response. Lightweight, rigid cast aluminum baskets are designed for precision motor alignment with unobstructed linear movement and ample venting. Polk's proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance® technology designs out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds. Super cell aerated polypropylene cone is the ideal balance of lightweight stiffness (for more efficient action with less distortion-causing flex) and superior damping properties. take a look inside this product technology Dynamic Sonic Engine This is a molded enclosure within the cabinet that houses the super-accurate ring radiator tweeter and the extended motion midrange driver in their own separate, tuned compartments. This aligned, optimized array contributes to wide, uniform dispersion in the critical 200Hz - 2kHz range. The dynamic sonic engine, in turn, lives in a separate, rigidly braced enclosure-within-the-enclosure. This separation and specialized tuning measurably reduces performance-robbing back wave reflections. The result is astonishing detail and realistic imaging, with improved transient response, exact timbre-matching, and greater horizontal off-axis response. Enhanced Ring Radiator Tweeter Our engineers took the ring radiator tweeter, usually seen in only the most exotic speakers, and found way to improve it. They reshaped the tweeter's bullet-shaped phase plug to eliminate horn-loading and improve dispersion. Redesigning the tweeter faceplate and the diaphragm added efficiency. Finally, they gave their new ring radiator tweeter its own tuned enclosure within the dynamic sonic engine.
