This is one of only very few propane/Mapp Gas torches that will work properly for melting soft glass for making glass beads and other ornaments. Plumber's torches do not work, but only darken your glass to a muddy color because they don't burn clean enough. Don't make the mistake of purchasing one of those torches for lampworking, or a lampwork kit that provides such a torch. You will be purchasing another torch when you find the plumber's torch does not work properly. This torch sold here by Devardi Glass is a professional torch designed specifically for melting soft glass. It is very similar to the hothead torch but less than half the price.
