MAXIMUM USABLE WHOLE HIDE COVERAGE – Large sheepskin (lambskin) hide in the 7–9 sq.ft range, ideal for jackets, bigger handbags or multiple smaller items cut from one continuous piece of leather. Each hide is measured at the tannery using a computerised area system, and the actual size in sq.ft is clearly marked on the back of the hide.

AA GRADE – NO HOLES & CUTS IN MAIN AREA – Most craft hides arrive with holes, scars and knife cuts running through the usable area. We reject those. From every 100 hides at the tannery, only about 40% pass our AA-grade selection with clean, uninterrupted usable leather. The result is less waste, more yield per square foot and fewer nasty surprises when you start cutting.
