Every hide is measured at the tannery with a computerised area system, and the precise size in sq.ft is noted on the back of the hide.

AA GRADE – NO HOLES & CUTS IN MAIN AREA – Most craft hides arrive with holes, scars and knife cuts running through the usable area. We reject those. From every 100 hides at the tannery, only about 40% pass our AA-grade selection with clean, uninterrupted usable leather. The result is less waste, more yield per square foot and fewer nasty surprises when you start cutting.
