If we weren’t careful while using the mallet type, the corners of their square heads dug into the food, gouging it or tearing small holes. The heads on this pounder had no such corners and thus inflicted no damage, keeping the cutlets intact and smooth.

WEIGHT: Weighing 1.85 pounds - just the right weight to flatten the food but not so heavy that they were unwieldy or painful to use. You can let it drop onto the meat you're pounding and let the weight of it do the work.

HANDLE: The handle is positioned directly over the base plate making it easy to control and direct the pounder. The solid heavy handle absorbs the force from the impact, protecting your hand and wrist. The handle size is suitable for most users.

BUILD: This tool is cast entirely from 18/10 stainless steel. With one-piece construction, it has no gaps, and no join so you will not worry about food or cleaning water trapped inside your tool and dropping into your food.

MATERIAL: We use solid food-grade stainless steel type 304 (18/10). You will not worry about the Chrome plating coming off and sitting on your food. This meat pounder tool is dishwasher safe.
